Field Trips
ISMAR6 is sponsoring two field trips. The first one will be held on Day 4; the second one will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, after the conference.
October 31: Recharge Sites in East Salt River Valley
This field trip will begin with a 1-hour series of talks (beginning at 8:00 am) that introduce the issues and design elements of three significant Phoenix-area recharge projects:
We will travel by motor coach and will leave the Pointe South Mountain Resort at 9:00 am. Our first stop will be the Scottsdale Water Campus. After the Water Campus tour, we will have lunch (box lunch to be provided) at the City of Scottsdale Horizon Park, not far from the Water Campus. From there, we will visit the GRUSP site and then tour the Town of Gilbert Riparian Preserve. We will end our field trip with a leisurely walk through the lush desert vegetation at the Preserve, and we will return to the hotel at about 4:00 pm.
November 3: Las Vegas Valley Water District ASR Operations
This tour will explore a massive recharge program. We’ll meet at 8:30 am in front of the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino. The bus will leave the parking lot at 9:00 am and return at about 4:30 pm. Stops will include:
• North Well Field and Las Vegas Springs Preserve
• SCADA System
• Lunch at the gardens of the Las Vegas Springs Preserve
• Northwest Water Resource Center / ASR integration
• Spring Mountain-Durango pump station
